Gary founded Jones Productions in 1981, but he has been in the film production business for over 48 years. While he has experience shooting around the world—Canada, Hong Kong, Bali, France—he has also photographed countless scenes in his home state of Arkansas for Arkansas State Parks and the Department of Parks and Tourism.
He has produced two independent feature films which received world-wide distribution. And since 1995, he has worked on five IMAX® films, including “NASCAR 3D: The IMAX Experience,” “Michael Jordan to the Max,” World Cup soccer, and Dave Matthews: Live in Concert. Gary is equally comfortable working on location or in the studio, where he often shoots table-top for his many food clients.
In 2000, Gary received both the “Lifetime Service Award” and the “Silver Medal Award” from the Arkansas Advertising Federation. In 2005, he incorporated the non-profit Arkansas Society for Cinema and Television Production, to further filmmaking education and serve as a catalyst for the development of the Arkansas Moving Image Museum and Archive. He is currently working on his Ph. D. in Heritage Studies at Arkansas State University.
